Chinese New Year Cup
While Japan Championship is a tournament to determine who is the best player, Chinese New Year Cup is a team match and the way it’s organized is closer to international tournaments; team match with table point 4-2-1-0, 4 games on the first day and 3 games on the second day without elimination rounds.
6th Chinese New Year Cup was held on February 28 and March 1, 2009 in Tokyo with the participation
of 17 teams from all over Japan.
Team Tohoku A won with a huge lead of 10 points over the second team; last year’s winning team Team Kunihara.
